Crazy Train Flyball: Milestones and Historical Moments
From a wild idea to a decade of domination.
We’ve had an unbeatable run, and we’re still going strong! Here’s the rundown on how Arizona’s Crazy Train Flyball team raced its way into flyball history:
2015
Crazy Train was founded by a passionate crew of seven flyballers determined to do things faster, louder, and with a whole lot of heart.
Our original members were experienced and former members of other flyball clubs:
- Can-Do Agility Team, Heatwave, Arizona Supercharged Flyball, Blazin’ K9’s, Phoenix Hot Pawsuit, and Dog Speed Dog Sports.
Dave Collett is head captain.

2016

- Crazy Train’s Multibreed Team, No More Tears ran 16.533
- Awarded NAFA Multibreed Champion
- Region 6 Multibreed Champion
- Took 1st place in Multibreed Division 1 at CanAm
- Crazy Train’s own Ozzy took Fastest Pomeranian in U-Fli
2017
- Crazy Train’s Regular team “Bark at the Moon” ran 15.91
- Awarded Region 6 Multibreed Champion
- Region 6 Regular Champion
- Took 1st place in Multibreed Division 1

2018

- Awarded Region 6 Multibreed Champion
- Region 6 Regular Champion
- Took 1st place in Multibreed Division 2
- Crazy Train’s own Ozzy took Fastest Pomeranian in U-Fli
2019
- Awarded Region 6 Multibreed Champion
- Region 6 Regular Champion
- Region 6 Overall Champion
- Crazy Train’s own border whippet, Kamikaze was recognized as Region 6 MVP
- Invited to FCI World Cup to run in Belgium in May of 2020

2020

- Founding member and leader Dave Collett moves to Nebraska and Meagan Langs takes over as head captain
- No NAFA Champions designated due to COVID-19 cancellations
- FCI World Cup was cancelled due to COVID-19
2021
- Crazy Train’s own border staffy, Rocket, was recognized as Region 6 MVP
- No NAFA Champions designated due to COVID-19 cancellations

2022

- Region 6 Regular Champion
- Region 6 Overall Champion
2023
- Region 6 Regular Champion
- Region 6 Overall Champion
- Crazy Train’s own border collie, Rumor was recognized as Region 6 MVP

2024

- In 2024, the team focused on training green dogs and growing the team with a special focus on height dogs.
- Team runs in Open Division a majority of the year to support incoming green height dogs.
2025
- Crazy Train celebrates their 10-year anniversary!
- Crazy Train begins competing for Regional Champion again.
